Author: The world of musical instruments is as vast as it is old. Man has been making music since he first banged rocks together; and since that time music has become a large part of the human experience. It is the focal point of many human activities and the 
instruments used to create our music are continually evolving.
Drums are arguably the oldest of musical instruments. They the most primal of any existing group of instruments, but have continually been a staple of most genres of music. Their use can be documented all over the world, and in nearly every culture and in every era. Today, drums are the heart of most popular music, whether they be acoustic drums or electronic.
Stringed instruments have been used by humans for millennia. Evidence of these musical instruments can be found dating as far back as Ancient Greece and earlier. This group of instruments has evolved to include a great many variations, ranging from the violin to the guitar, with each sub-category including even more variations. The guitar, for instance, can be found in acoustic, electric and hybrid configurations. The invention of electronic effects processors and other types of synthesizers have only served to increase the variety within this group.
Finally, there are the wind instruments. This group of musical instruments can be broken down into two main categories; brass and woodwind. Brass instruments get their name because they are almost always made from metal, and that metal is often brass. Sound is produced by vibrating the lips against a mouthpiece, and this vibration is amplified through the tubing of the instrument. Examples of brass instruments include trumpets, trombones and tubas; just to name a few.
Woodwinds are members of the wind group of musical instruments, but their name is a bit of a misnomer. Woodwinds aren’t always made from wood. Their name most often has to do with the fact that they require the use of a wooden reed in order to produce sound, but even this aspect is not universal to the group. Flutes, for example, are not only made from metal (although they can be made of wood, and most were for centuries) but they also do not use a reed of any kind. Saxophones are also made from metal, but they do require a wooden reed.
Music – probably it is one of the most mysterious and beautiful things in our world. Due to technical progress, music is now available not only in cathedrals with huge organs, like the one Johann Sebastian Bach played, or in theatres on the orchestras’ performances. Nowadays, every person that has some funds can have music in their house – from portable radios to huge music centers.
But, a human is a perfectionist being and after some time of listening music from regular, or original tape recorder speakers, people intend to buy better and better speakers from time to time. There are many different types of quality speakers, biggest of which need to be mounted on speaker mounts for better performance of sound. There are floor speakers for home cinemas, there are pre-amplified speakers for computers, there are average-sized speakers for home stereos, etc. Everyone picks what they consider better for them.
But you should be thorough and careful, when choosing speakers for your home use. When shopping in a store, you should always ask the consultant to demonstrate the speakers you thought to be the one you want. You should not only pay attention to the way the speakers generally sound, you should pay attention to its frequencies – low, middle, and high. Those that require speaker mounts are mostly used for studios, or concerts, but some of them would also fit home use. In case such speakers aren’t mounted as required, you shouldn’t ask for their demonstration, since their sound will be distorted due to the improper use. Otherwise, you should notice the way the speakers sound – the highs shouldn’t grate on the ears, the middles should be just enough to make clear such things as voices and guitars, and the lows shouldn’t press on your ears at all, but should be deep enough to make you feel the bass in your chest. In case you find out the speakers you’ve chosen meet these things, you can buy them right away.

You are finally there! Your music has never sounded better and you are ready to begin promoting yourself and your sound as an independent recording artist. You have put time and talent into your music, now you have to begin self-promoting in a professional manner.
The music industry is competitive. In order to standout and be recognized, it will take more than just great music. When self-promoting, an artist should begin by creating a professional portfolio. This portfolio can include items such as a well-written biography, a press release and photos or video that will help promoters see your talent in a professional light. A hand-written flyer or quickly thrown together biography with spelling and grammar errors can be a turn-off to most promoters. In addition, blurry photos and videos will make it difficult for a promoter to feature an artist on a website. This type of hastily submitted information will say “amateur” to promoters even if the music is phenomenal.
Think of self-promoting as laying the ground work for your success. As an independent recording artist, your music comes naturally, but you still have to practice to continually grow. The same is true of promoting your work. You have to keep your biography, press information and photos/videos fresh and professional to showcase who you are musically. Perhaps writing and photography are not your strong points. If you have the financial means it may be well worth it to pay to have a professional writer complete your biographical and press information for you.
