Some people prefer to grow their own organic vegetables. You can easily build your raised vegetable garden beds to grow vegetables like carrots and radishes. A raised bed can be built using wood, natural stone, concrete blocks, or bricks. The steps to build raised bed are as follows.
The first step to build a raised vegetable bed is to select the site or location for the bed. You must make sure that the site you plan for the garden bed is well exposed to hot sun. Also ensure that the area is a weed barrier area and does not receive the shades of tall trees. The second step is to determine the shape and size of the raised bed. Make sure that the bed is at least six to eight inches from the bottom. The third step is to prepare the site and construct the raised vegetable bed using wood, natural stone, concrete blocks, or bricks. The next step is to level the bed frame in order to avoid the running of all the water from the bed. The final step is to fill the well prepared and fertilized potting soil over the constructed bed frame. The raised bed can also be bordered using brick or wood or plastic landscape edging.
